Luo Yang is a photographer from Shenyang, China, now living in Beijing. Working strictly with film and rarely doctoring her photos, Luo Yang’s work is an exploration of youth: longing, uncertainty, spindly-limbed awkwardness, and, of course, an endlessly enviable sense of cool. In her shows, highly staged portraits, casual poses, and spontaneous shots all appear alongside on another, blurring the inherent truth of the medium of photography.

Pressed Chair By Harry Thaler
Pressed chair is a light, stackable metal chair designed by London based designer Harry Thaler. The minimalist metal chair is stamped out of a 2.5 mm aluminum sheet. The main feature of the design is that the chair is made with single material without any joints or fixtures. The chair is extremely strong and very light enough to be lifted with only two fingers. Furthermore the manufacturing process produces no waste material and the chair is 100% recyclable. The Pressed Chair is one of the two joint winning designs in this year’s [D3] Contest.

I’m loving these images sent over to us by Edward Cushenberry. I’m not sure if they are just scans from his journal or if the writing is part of the work but I love the intimacy that the text brings to the photographs. I feel like I’m right there with Edward having these conversations and living out all the awkward moments.
