Olivier De Sagazan’s brutal paintings, sculptures, and performances are somewhere between early Nine Inch Nails videos and the nightmares that Tim Burton has after watching his own movies.

Garnet Hertz, a research scientist at UCI, recently developed “OutRun,” a driving game that you can actually drive. The project’s physical form is a mashup between an arcade game from the 80s (OutRun) and a modern day golf cart complete with some sweet rims (check those things out!). Using computer vision, the graphics of the game are able to update in real time to correspond to the road ahead… making it possible to drive in a mixed reality! Martine Johanna is a Dutch artist with a beautiful portfolio of illustration work. While being heavily influenced by Art Nouveau, Johanna’s work is decidedly modern, juxtaposing organic, undulating waves of hair with geometric shapes, and delicately wrought shading with surprising peeks of color. It should come as no surprise that we love a bit of decay in anything beautiful and Heikki Leis’ gorgeously lit  series Afterlife is the perfect marriage of the two. His photos of rotting food and  macro zooms of mold and decay have enough beauty and decay for the most diehard Cult Of Decay member.  Long live Beautiful Decay!
